Summit Healthcare, a leader in healthcare system integration, has selected Secure Exchange Solutions as its Health Information Service Provider (HISP). Secure Exchange Solutions offers SES Connect, a scalable technology for the secure exchange of healthcare information. Secure Exchange Solutions is a committed member of the Direct Project, enabling organizations to meet the transmit requirements for Meaningful Use Stage 2 certification.
SES Connect provides hospitals the ability to communicate securely with any community physician, patient, long-term care facility, pharmacy or lab using a standardized system that allows users to leverage their existing IT investments. SES Connect will be a seamless, integrated component of the Summit Care Exchange technology platform.
With the integration of SES Connect into Summit Care Exchange, hospitals will be well positioned to communicate with in-network or out-of-network Healthcare Providers, by offering Direct interoperability with other Electronic Health records (EHRs), Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) and Health Information Service Providers (HISPs).
The Summit Care Exchange solution facilitates Continuity of Care Document (CCD) exchange between hospitals, physician practices and HIEs to promote interoperability, allowing for seamless exchange of data to support the transitions of patient care. Summit Care Exchange supports the three different CCD integration models; Discharge, Consumer/Supplier and Direct Messaging, and is now further enhanced with the SES Connect HISP offering.
With Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements now mandating Summary of Care Record integration, organizations are being faced with numerous integration challenges including the management of multiple destination points, different integration protocols and the ability to filter data as needed for receiving entities' requirements. In addition to these challenges, organizations must also still provide a centralized means for data monitoring. Summit Care Exchange enables this level of integration management for hospital consumers.
"Summit Healthcare recognizes and supports the many integration demands our healthcare clients are facing day in and day out. Summit Care Exchange was launched to support the CCD data exchange requirements but we realized quickly the importance of offering secure Direct Messaging with a HISP model. We are thrilled to partner with Secure Exchange Solutions and look forward to further supporting our Summit Healthcare clients on their next phase of integration," said Ted Rossi, President, Summit Healthcare.
"We are pleased that Summit Healthcare has selected SES Connect to enhance the Summit Care Exchange platform," said Dan Kazzaz, CEO of Secure Exchange Solutions. "Summit Care Exchange clients now have a clear path to achieving the transmit requirements for Meaningful Use, along with the ability to communicate with providers both in and out of their current networks."
