Winchester Hospital Successfully Tackles Integration

Interoperability is a complex topic, not to mention it's constantly changing. Having the ability to fully integrate your systems, and having the ability to connect your HIS to any vendor or receiving system is quite a feat.

Understandably so, many of the technologies out there are pricey. But oftentimes a hospitals success is ultimately determined by both their team and the strength of their interoperability strategy coupled with their technology.

One of our clients, Winchester Hospital, is a leader in providing community based care to suburban Boston and has been recognized as a progressive organization. Winchester puts an emphasis on patient care. They understand that this concept of a strong healthcare information technology and integration plan is the key to their success.

Winchester has implemented a scalable integration technology platform to bridge it's systems and consolidate complex point-to-point interface environments. This has given them the ability to increase efficiency, and contribute to the hospital's bottom line without ever losing sight of their goal to improve patient care.

With a reliable interface engine and the ability to bi-directionally integrate between EMRs, HIEs and physician practices, Winchester has decided to focus efforts on their Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements. Currently there's a big push for many hospitals to successfully send and receive CCD interfaces with another entity, for support of the Meaningful Use transition of care requirement. This new requirement covers everything from CCDs to HISPs to Direct Messaging.

Join us for a webcast featuring Matt D'Errico, Director of IT and Ed Leftin, Senior System Analyst from Winchester Hospital as they present Winchester Hospital's integration story.
